Two years ago I wrote The Journey, describing and reflecting upon the events leading to the birth of Jesus. It was the second book in my trilogy about the life of Christ, which includes The Way, about his ministry and teachings; and 24 Hours That Changed the World, describing his final day on earth. I also wrote a set of 28 devotions to go with The Journey, for use during Advent and Christmas.

Those devotions, along with a few travel notes and reflections, are presented in a new book, Walking the Road to Bethlehem: Your Journey to Christmas.

During the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing excerpts from Walking the Road to Bethlehem with you here on the blog. Join me as we travel through four key locations of the Christmas story: Nazareth, Bethlehem, Ein Karem, and the road from Nazareth to Bethlehem.

My hope and prayer is that the book, Walking the Road to Bethlehem—as well as the excerpts published here—will help to deepen your faith and love and gratitude for Jesus Christ.

P.S. If you’d like to use Walking the Road to Bethlehem for your own Advent readings or devotions, you can order it at Cokesbury for a special 37% off! Click here ==>> Walking the Road to Bethlehem at Cokesbury. The first Sunday of Advent is this coming Sunday, December 1; so, ideally, you’d want to begin with the book’s first reading, “The Genealogy of Jesus” on this day.
